The complaint, submitted to the Mumbai Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women's Commission, calls for strict action against the individuals named. YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known for his ‘BeerBiceps’ channel, has landed in controversy over a remark he made on comedian Samay Raina’s show, ‘India’s Got Latent.’ During the episode, which also featured content creators Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Mukhija, Allahbadia posed a highly inappropriate question to a contestant.
A clip of his remark quickly went viral, sparking outrage on social media. Neelesh Misra, journalist, and lyricist, criticised the creators for their lack of responsibility, calling them ‘perverted’ and accusing them of negatively influencing the country’s creative landscape. He also highlighted concerns over children accessing such content.
Adding to the controversy, Apoorva Mukhija has also been booked for allegedly using abusive language on the show. As legal complaints mount, the incident has ignited discussions on content regulation and creator accountability.
Journalist and lyricist Neelesh Misra criticised the creators of ‘India’s Got Latent,’ calling them ‘perverted’ and expressing concern over their influence on India’s creative economy.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he pointed out that the content was not marked as adult, making it easily accessible to children if directed by the algorithm. Misra also condemned the lack of responsibility from both the creators and the platform, adding, “I am not surprised that four people at the desk – and many in the audience – celebrated this and had a great laugh.” His remarks have further fuelled the ongoing debate on content regulation and creator accountability.

Hindu IT Cell Files Complaint
Following the backlash, the Hindu IT Cell took action by filing a complaint against ‘India’s Got Latent’ and Ranveer Allahbadia. In a post on X, the group revealed that a person named Akshit Singh had officially lodged a complaint with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, accusing Ranveer and Samay Raina of ‘promoting obscenity.’ "We have filed an official complaint with Ministry of Information and Broadcasting against @ReheSamay & @BeerBicepsGuy for promoting obscenity. Jai Hind," the post read on X.

Concerns have also been raised about the show’s racist remarks, sexual jokes, and objectification, with critics arguing that such content crosses ethical boundaries in online entertainment.

Amid the controversy, social media users have called for a boycott, urging people to unsubscribe and unfollow Ranveer across platforms. Some have even demanded his and Samay’s arrest. However, despite the growing outrage, neither Ranveer nor Samay has responded or issued an apology.
