Genioplasty is primarily considered a cosmetic surgery, meaning individuals opt for it to enhance their appearance rather than to address a medical issue.

There are various approaches to conducting this procedure, including chin advancement (moving the chin forward), pushback (moving the chin backward), side-to-side adjustments to address asymmetry, and vertical changes to alter the length of the chin.

As per Healthline, chin implants serve to alter the shape, size, or projection of the chin. This can be achieved through either surgical or injection methods.
