After India’s Operation Sindoor targeted terror networks in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), several Pakistani celebrities openly criticised India and its armed forces. In response, the Indian government had geoblocked the Instagram profiles of prominent Pakistani personalities within India.

Now, two months later, fans have noticed that many of these actors’ accounts are accessible once again. Curious to know which Pakistani stars you can finally check out on Instagram? Read on to find out.

Ban On Pakistan Actors' Instagram Account Lifted?

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, many Pakistani celebrities saw their Instagram profiles become temporarily unavailable to users in India. This restriction seemed to align with posts and discussions surrounding the attack and India’s Operation Sindoor, carried out in response. Well-known Pakistani actors and influencers were among those affected, with their profiles suddenly disappearing from Indian feeds soon after the operation.

Now, it seems that these restrictions have been quietly lifted, and several accounts are accessible once more in India. Profiles like Mawra Hocane, popular among Indian fans for ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ opposite Harshvardhan Rane, Yumna Zaidi, Ahad Raza Mir, and Danish Taimoor can now be viewed again. These accounts had previously been blocked due to heightened tensions following the Pahalgam incident.

Hania Aamir, Fawad Khan Still Blocked On Instagram

It remains to be seen whether other big Pakistani stars such as Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, and Hania Aamir, will also regain access to their Indian fan base on Instagram. Currently, these celebrities’ profiles continue to be blocked in India. Users attempting to view them receive a notice stating: “Account not available in India. This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content.”

Other well-known figures impacted by the restriction include Ali Zafar, Ayeza Khan, Sanam Saeed, Maya Ali, and Iqra Aziz Hussain. All of these actors, who enjoy a huge following in India thanks to their hit shows and strong social media presence, remain invisible to millions of Indian fans for now.

Interestingly, Hania Aamir has also recently found herself at the centre of controversy in India due to her role in Diljit Dosanjh’s Punjabi film ‘Sardaar Ji 3.’ Although the film has not been released in India yet, her casting has sparked outrage. Several film associations and Indian celebrities have criticised Diljit for collaborating with Hania, with some even demanding a ban on the singer-actor for working with her.

For similar reasons, Mawra Hocane has also been dropped from ‘Sanam Teri Kasam 2.’ Her former co-star, Harshvardhan Rane, took to Instagram to announce that he wouldn’t return for the sequel if the original cast was retained. He stated, “Although I am grateful for this experience, given the current situation and after reading comments made about my country, I have decided that if the previous cast is repeated, I will respectfully step down.”

The film’s directors, Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, later confirmed that Mawra would no longer be part of the franchise. In response, Mawra accused Harshvardhan of using the situation as a PR stunt, to which he also issued a sharp reply.
