After completing her schooling at Divine Child High School in Andheri, Dixit enrolled herself at the Sathaye College in Vile Parle, Mumbai. She took up BSc. and microbiology was one of her subjects. However, she never completed her degree as she discontinued her studies after a few months and got into films full-time.

Madhuri Dixit Is A Trained Kathak Dancer

Dixit is a trained Kathak dancer. At a young age of nine, she won a Kathak scholarship. Madhuri Dixit is the only female actor to have worked with Pandit Birju Maharaj. She was choreographed by the legendary master for movies like Devdas, Dedh Ishqiya and Dil Toh Pagal Hai. Post the demise of her dance guru, Dixit took to her Twitter handle and wrote, "He was my guru but also my friend. If reports are to be believed, Madhuri Dixit was the highest paid female actor back in the 90s. For Hum Aapke Hai Koun, reports suggest that she took home a whopping ₹2.7 Crores. The fee was said to be way higher than what Salman Khan was paid for his movies .

The fan appealed to the government to declare a public holiday on the occasion of Madhuri Dixit's birthday.

Not many know that there is also a star named after Madhuri Dixit in the Orion constellation. This was also done by a group of fans who approached the Star Foundation Network and gave Madhuri a star named after her.
