Bollywood’s iconic actor and our very own Calendar from Mr. India is no more. The actor breathed his last in the early hours of the morning on Thursday, March 9. The actor was 66 years old when the world lost him. During the span of his career, the actor had delivered a range of the most memorable and versatile roles that a Bollywood actor could ever have essayed. He was a comedian for the most part of his career, but he truly established the fact that he could play any role with positive or negative shades with the most ease.

Calendar in Mr India (1987)

What stayed most close to the audience’s hearts is his role as Calendar from the 1987 super hit movie Mr India. The role etched by director Shekhar Kapur truly has a cult following amongst people of all ages. This role essayed by him as the cook, Calendar literally took peoples’ hearts away. The movie had stars such as Sridevi and Anil Kapoor in lead roles but the relationship between the child actors and Satish Kaushik was what added magic to the film. The iconic dialogue, ‘Calendar khana do’ isas unforgettable as ‘Mogambo khush hua’ from the cult movie. In a career spanning over thirty years, Calendar is a role that is etched in stone and will be remembered forever.

Chanda Mama in Mr & Mrs Khiladi(1997)

Satish Kaushik played another unforgettable role as Chanda Mama alongside Akshay Kumar and Juhi Chawla in the David Dhawan directorial Mr & Mrs Khiladi that hit the silver screen in 1997. The camaraderie and love between Akshay Kumar and Satish Kaushik in the movie has been an unforgettable and cheerful cinematic experience.

Muthu Swamy in Saajan Chale Sasural(1996)

Kaushik delivered another memorable role as Muthu Swamy in yet another David Dhawan movie, Saajan Chale Sasural. This fraternal role that he played alongside another icon Govinda became a cult and is remembered to this day.

Pappu Pager in Deewana Mastana(1997)

Kaushik played the role of Pappu Pager in another 1997 movie Deewana Mastana. The movie that was also directed by David Dhawan saw Kaushik share screen space with Anil Kapoor and Govinda. But his role was what stayed with the audiences for decades.
