In 2017, filmmaker Karan Johar announced to the world that he had become a parent to twins named Roohi and Yash. In a media interview, Johar admitted that not having a partner was his biggest life regret. However, the filmmaker used surrogacy to deliver his twins. He was questioned whether choosing to be a single parent after accepting fatherhood if not having a partner encouraged him to do so.
That there was no connection between the two, he said. The director even suggested waiting until one is ready to take on the burden and is emotionally prepared before deciding to welcome a child or children into their lives.
