“There was a phase in my life where I held this grudge against one, and now I want to call it quits and leave that grudge behind – and that’s Honey Singh. I was unhappy because of some misunderstanding but then I realised when we were together. Jodne waale bahut kam the, todne waale bahut the (The number of people wanting to break us apart outnumbered the number of people trying to unite). Today, I just want to let everyone know I’ve left that phase behind and I wish him all the best,” he added.
Even though Badshah offered to be friends again, Yo Yo Honey Singh (who is 41) hasn't said anything back yet.
Badshah & Yo Yo Honey Singh Feud Explained
Mafia Mundeer
Their relationship traces back to the days of Mafia Mundeer, a rap group that brought Badshah, Honey Singh, Raftaar, Ikka, and Lil' Golu together. The group delivered hits like ‘Gabru,’ ‘Haye Maera Dil,’ and ‘Siftaan’ before parting ways amid internal conflicts.
Mafia Mundeer Fallout
Tensions began brewing when Raftaar claimed he wasn't given due credit for the viral hit ‘Dope Shope,’ leading to his exit from the group. Badshah followed suit in 2011, alleging he didn't receive proper recognition for his work on ‘Get Up Jawani.’
In an interview, Badshah revealed, "I think Honey Paaji decided to go solo. Then everyone thought, 'humara toh kuch hone nahi wala', so everyone left the group."
The feud escalated further when Honey Singh compared Badshah to a "Nano car" during a press conference for his film ‘Zorawar,’ a dig at the latter's stature in the industry. This remark deeply hurt Badshah, who was once a close friend of Singh's.
However, in a heartwarming display of maturity, Badshah chose to let go of the past grudges during the Dehradun concert. "I was unhappy because of some misunderstanding, but then I realised when we were together, jodne waale bahut kam the, todne waale bahut the (The number of people wanting to break us apart outnumbered the number of people trying to unite)," he admitted.
After the concert, Badshah took to X, writing, "Peace and progress," further cementing his desire to move forward positively.
Peace and progress 🧿❤️
