Babil Khan who was once praised for his humble nature has now become the internet's new favourite meme, all for the same reason.

The reality of society can be defined by their weird fascination toward Bollywood toxic male characters like Radhe from Tere Naam, Kabir from Kabir Singh and Ranvijay Singh from Animal. Not to ignore the quest of male society to become the sigma male who is patriarchal, misogynistic and considers respecting women to be weak, uncool and less powerful. People have (perhaps, unintentionally), put ‘savagery’ and ‘badassery’ in men on a pedestal, so that men who exhibit soft behaviour are considered nothing more than meme material. And the prime example of this trolling is the budding star, Babil Khan.

Is Babil Khan Getting Trolled For Being Too Nice?

Late Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan who was once praised for his humble nature has now become the internet’s new favourite meme, all for the same reason. It all started when the video of Babil went viral where the Qala actor is seen profusely apologising to a woman for mistakenly photobombing her at an event. Since then, Khan has become a meme material among trollers, mocked for being too sweet to the women. According to internet users, he is too sweet, too soft, too humble and his niceness is performative. But the question is ‘When did being nice become a bad thing?’

The portrayal of men in Bollywood is such that we are not accustomed to see male gender of society who do not fit a set prototype - manly, muscular, strong, dominating and someone who could be the ‘Alpha’.

Therefore, men like Babil who don’t fall into that category become an easy subject of trolling among social media users. Because when men are being soft, they are being sensitive. And according to society, being sensitive is weak, and being weak is not a manly thing.
