Aditi Rao Hydari-Siddharth's Wedding: RIP Big-Fat Bollywood Nuptials?

Aditi Rao Hydari-Siddharth's nuptial was a stark contrast to what celebrity and Bollywood weddings have been known for. So is the era of grand and big-fat Bollywood weddings over?

Aditi Siddharth wedding

Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth gave Monday a jumpstart by announcing their marriage. While she donned a golden organza lehenga complete with elegant ruby-and-gold jewellery, Siddharth opted for a simple kurta-veshthi for their nuptials, which only had family and friends in attendance. The couple reportedly exchanged vows at a 400-year-old temple in Wanaparthy, Telangana. Their love story started on the sets of Maha Samundram (2021) and they maintained secrecy till March when they dropped their news of engagement. Since then, we have been waiting for this union to happen.

Aditi Rao Hydari-Siddharth Showed What Weddings Really Are

Given how reticent the couple is, we surely did not expect anything lavish or flashy but we were not ready for the uber-simple ceremony, too. It took us by surprise and it was a good one. For, Aditi and Siddharth, their wedding surely was a simple, intimate fusion of two souls who planned to spend their lives together. This is even though both are established names in the entertainment industry.

The actors ditched excessive expenditure, glamourous dresses, makeup, and jewelry and went for a very relatable and down-to-earth celebration. Their wedding photos radiated a lot of love, warmth, and chemistry, making us feel pretty cozied up. Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth proved these occasions only need a few things: Deep affection, genuine well-wishers, and a comfortable setting.

This sentiment was echoed in several recent Bollywood weddings, like that of Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha-Zaheer Iqbal, and Taapsee Pannu-Mathias Boe. While Taapsee-Mathias chose to be completely private, the others went for subdued and minimalistic celebrations for the world and probably kept the opulent ones for themselves, to be observed only with their close ones, underlining that one of their most important decisions in life is not for public display.

Rani Mukerji-Aditya Chopra's Wedding Takes The Trophy Though

The award for clandestine celebrity weddings, though, should go to Rani Mukerji and Yash Raj Films (YRF) scion Aditya Chopra. They took their combined introversion to another level by not sharing any pictures (till now), issuing any personal statements (except the one that came from YRF), and not talking about their 2014 ceremony at all. Even though Facebook was prevalent then, the couple didn't bother to disclose anything about their event there. They don't care now either, hence we don't have any details about their Italy wedding.
