A video of renowned actor Aamir Khan was being widely shared on Facebook and X. The video was 31 seconds long and showed him saying, “Friends, if you think that India is a poor country, then you are absolutely wrong. Because every citizen of this country is a millionaire. Everyone should have at least Rs. 15 lakh. What did you say? You don't have this amount? So, where did your Rs. 15 lakh go? Beware of these cheaters."

The video was posted on the official X handle of Harish Meena, a political leader from the affluent political party Indian National Congress.

Aamir Khan’s Viral Video Is Fake!

On April 16, 2024, Aamir Khan’s official spokesperson released a statement on the issue. The statement emphasised that Khan has never supported any political party in his entire career, and this is a fake video.

The statement also mentioned that necessary actions have been taken by Khan and a FIR has been filed with the Cyber Crime Cell of Mumbai Police. It is reported that the video was AI-generated footage edited from his hit show "Satyameva Jayate.”

The actor also encouraged all Indians to come out, vote, and be responsible citizens by being a part of the electoral process.
