From the time immemorial, mud has been used for healing and therapeutic purposes. The world is full of advanced therapies and equipment to relieve people from stress. But, there is nothing like going back to all-natural ways, in order to detox and heal the body and the soul. Mud baths and spas can turn out to be expensive, but you need not compromise. Mud baths are also possible and home! Yes, it can be messy and time-consuming but it’s all worth the satisfaction it provides you. Here’s all you need to know to enjoy a therapeutic session at home.
Things To Remember
- Do not simply mix backyard dirt and water, there is more to the mixture than just these two-ingredient in order to make it nutritional and rich in mineral.
- Be prepared for all the mess. However, do not rush to clean just after your bath. You want to relax at least for 30-60-minutes post the process.
- Pre place a screen if the dirt is grainy. You don’t want the drains to clog.
- You don’t need gigantic bathtubs to complete this process.
Things You Will Need
- Regular water tub or inflatable pool
- Screen
- Water
- Clay
- Essential oils (optional)
- Rosewater (optional)
- Aloe vera
- Milk powder

Procedure
- Since you’re doing the process at home, there is no way you are having access to rich-mineral clay, the one that professionals use. Therefore, you need to enhance the quality of your mixture.
- Take a large bowl and put equal parts of clay (you can order it online or can buy from stores that keep healing material) and milk powder or natural aloe vera paste.
- Mix any of the two ingredients and mix together until the consistency is extremely smooth and without any lumps. Lastly add a few drops of essential oils and rose water.

- Do not use metal bowls and spoons, as it can reduce the goodness of the ingredients and interfere with the healing process.
- Professional use spring water, here you can use tap water, you just to boil it at 100 degrees.
- If you are using inflatable pool pour the whole paste in it, add boiled water. Do not let consistency become very watery. You want the mud to stick all over your body.
- If you are using a water tub, start by pouring 1/3rd of the mixture in it, add boiled water. This part of the mixture is for your feet. And rest for the upper body.
- Begin by putting your feet first in the bucket, relax a bit and then slowly start applying the rest of the mixture on the whole body except hair.
- Enjoy mud bath for 30-60 minutes minimum. You can let the soul and body heal until the content isn’t cold.
