Citadel: Honey Bunny Cancelled, Priyanka Chopra's Series Gets Release Window

Vernon Sanders, Amazon MGM Studios head of television, informed the media that the "successful and widely enjoyed international chapters (Honey Bunny and the Italian counterpart Diana)" won't "continue as individual series." Rather, Citadel season 2 will have their storylines making the main show their "most exhilarating yet."

"With high-stak es storytelling, new additions to our amazing cast, and bold, cinematic ambition, the new season will deepen the emotional journeys of Nadia, Mason, and Orlick against the relentless force that is Manticore. We’re excited to share what’s next when ‘Citadel’ Season 2 premieres globally in Q2 of 2026," Sanders added, hinting at the release window for Chopra Jonas' spy action series.

A Brief About Citadel Seasons 1 and 2

Created by Josh Appelbaum, Bryan Oh, and David Weil, the Amazon Prime Video show had the Russo brothers as executive producers. Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas star as Citadel agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh, respectively. Kane discovers a new organization, the dreaded Manticore, but faces a bad mishap. Almost a decade later, an old colleague (Stanley Tucci) approaches him seeking help but Kane's memory has been wiped out and he's now Kyle Conroy living a quiet life with his wife and kids.

Season 1 ends with Kane getting back his memory and realising he was manipulated into betraying Citadel. As per the brief, the second season will be set a month after the events of season 1. The gist adds:

“One month after the events of the first season, we find our Citadel spies underground, as they’re being hunted by Manticore agents around the world. They’re pulled out of hiding to join forces with a new team of unconventional spies when Manticore’s Brazilian billionaire Paulo Braga threatens to unleash a cataclysmic piece of technology, built by Citadel’s own Bernard Orlick, into the world.”

Season 1 had six episodes made on a stunning budget of US$300 million, becoming one of the most expensive TV series ever produced. It hit Prime Video on April 28, 2023, and was renewed for a second season in March 2023.

Meanwhile, Citadel: Diana (the Italian version) and Citadel: Honey Bunny premiered on October 10, 2024, and November 7, 2024, respectively.

All the three Citadel shows are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
