Meanwhile, the India chapter, titled Citadel: Honey Bunny, is directed by Raj and DK and features Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth.
Citadel Season 2 Release Date
While Citadel Season 2 has been confirmed, no official release date has been announced yet. Filming for the second season began in September 2024. The first season was filmed from January to December 2021, with reshoots occurring in 2022 before its debut in April 2023. If Season 2 follows a similar timeline, production could wrap up by mid-2025, suggesting a potential release as early as 2026.
Cast of Citadel Season 2

Citadel Season 1 Ending
Throughout the first season, Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) work to uncover the truth behind a devastating attack on their agency by Manticore, a rival organisation.
As the finale unfolds, it becomes clear that Mason's past actions are intricately linked to the agency's destruction. Flashbacks reveal that he sought help from his estranged mother, Dahlia Archer (Lesley Manville), who turns out to be a key figure in Manticore. Mason approached her in desperation to locate Nadia, unaware that she had left to protect their daughter, Asha.
Dahlia manipulates Mason, revealing that Citadel is responsible for his father's death, convincing him to help expose Citadel's dark secrets. This manipulation leads him to inadvertently betray his fellow agents.
In a high-stakes mission, Nadia and Mason team up with Carter Spence (Osy Ikhile) to retrieve nuclear cores from a Russian submarine in exchange for Asha’s safety. They successfully thwart Dahlia's plans and eliminate her henchman, Davik, during this operation.

The season concludes with Mason undergoing a procedure to restore his lost memories. He learns the full extent of his betrayal, realising he is not just a victim but also a significant threat to those he loves. This duality complicates his relationships moving forward, particularly with Nadia and Celeste (his wife), who remains unaware of his past as Mason Kane.
The credit sequence of Citadel Season 1—Finale gives us a brief glimpse of the expansion of the Citadel spy universe. The teaser opens with "Mad World" by 2WEI, Tommee Profit, and Fleurie, showcasing the Spanish chapter of the Russo brothers' planned world.
