Coldplay is coming back to India, people! The British band first performed here at The Global Citizen Festival India 2016 on the MMRDA grounds, Mumbai. This time too, they chose Mumbai as their destination. The Chris Martin-fronted rock band will do two shows in January 2025 as part of their Music of the Sphere World Tour. Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, and Seoul are the other spots covered in this concert itinerary.
Coldplay Will Be In Mumbai On January 18 And 19, 2025
Ahead of their album release, Coldplay announced they are hitting Mumbai on January 18 and 19, 2025 for their Music of the Sphere World Tour with the venue stated as DY Patil Stadium. The tickets for the same will only be available on BookMyShow. The popular online ticketing platform wrote on their X account that the duration of the show will be four hours and the tickets will be on sale from September 22 at 12 PM. There will be no ticket presale for this show, stated BookMyShow. The price for the tickets is pegged at Rs. 2,500 (starting) and one can buy up to eight tickets per transaction.

As per their website, the costliest ticket is that of the lounge, at Rs. 35,000. The same will comprise premium food and beverage services, an elevated viewing deck, a dedicated entry lane, restrooms, parking/drop-off zones, and an AC pre-function area.

January 11: Abu Dhabi - Zayed Sports City Stadium
18: Mumbai - DY Patil Sports Stadium
19: Mumbai - DY Patil Sports Stadium
April 09, 11, and 12: Hong Kong - Kai Tak Stadium
April 16, 18, 19, and 22: Seoul - Goyang Stadium
Martin aside, the 1997-formed band comprises guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer and percussionist Will Champion. Coldplay have won the Grammys a record seven times and tracks like 'Clocks,' 'A Sky Full of Stars', 'Magic,' 'Don't Panic', 'Viva la Vida' and 'In My Place' are some of their renowned ones. Their next album, titled 'Moon Music,' drops on October 4.
Chris Martin's Association With India
Apart from The Global Citizen Festival India 2016, Coldplay visited India the same year to film a video for their song 'Hymn For The Weekend.'
Before that in July 2015, Martin came to India for philanthropic reasons. As a representative of The Global Poverty Project, the Devon native met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to talk about the Swachh Bharat campaign and also visited the then Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
About India, Martin told the Times of India in 2016, "You can stay here forever and youâll never feel like youâve missed out on life. Thereâs enough to keep you occupied." And, we feel you, sir!
