Helmed by Tharun Moorthy, 'Thudarum' stars Mohanlal, Prakash Varma, Thomas Mathew, and Shobana, and hit theatres on April 25, 2025. The Indian Malayalam-language crime thriller has reportedly postponed its OTT debut due to its impressive theatrical run.
While most films follow a typical four-week window before streaming, ‘Thudarum’ may extend this timeline. However, an official confirmation regarding the new digital release date is still awaited.

‘Thudarum’ centres around Shanmugham, fondly known as ‘Benz’ after his beloved black 'Ambassador Mark 1' car. Once a film stunt assistant, Benz now lives a quiet life as a taxi driver in the serene hill town of Pathanamthitta. His peaceful existence takes a dramatic turn when his car becomes entangled in a police investigation, pulling him into a gripping narrative of justice, resilience, and unforeseen consequences, as per IMDb.
For a remarkable stretch, 'Thudarum' maintained daily earnings above Rs 1 crore at the Indian box office. On day 26, it collected Rs 95 lakhs, marking a 24% decline from the Rs 1.13 crore earned the previous day. The film’s total net collections now stand at Rs 115.40 crore, translating to approximately Rs 136.17 crore in gross revenue.

Despite its impressive domestic run, 'Thudarum will fall short of entering the Rs 100 crore club overseas. In 26 days, it has grossed Rs 92.75 crore internationally, according to Sacnilk.

Combined with its strong domestic performance, Mohanlal’s ‘Thudarum’ has amassed a worldwide gross of Rs 228.92 crore.
‘Thudarum’ has emerged as the third-highest-grossing Malayalam film worldwide. It also became the third Mollywood film ever to cross the Rs 225 crore mark at the global box office. Before this, only ‘Manjummel Boys’ and ‘L2: Empuraan’ have achieved this historic milestone.
