'Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba' picks up where the predecessor left off, as Rani and Rishabh try to begin a new chapter in their lives in the scintillating city of Agra. However, the past wouldn't let them off the hook so easily, and soon enough, with the police at their heels, it begins a journey marked by streaks of blood. Sunny Kaushal's character entry as Abhimanyu marks the beginning of a new dimension in their otherwise already knotty life.

From here on, Rani and Rishu enter a whole new world and come across a variety of new rivals who will stop at nothing to sabotage their shot at happiness. Jimmy Shergill's character then becomes a great force in the fight against them so that the couple may not live happily ever after.
