‘One Piece’ is based on a Japanese manga series that follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew members. He embarks on a journey to find the deceased King of the Pirates Gol D. Roger. All Luffy wanted to do was become the King of Pirates.

What Is ‘One Piece’?

‘One Piece’ is originally an entire universe created by a Japanese illustrator and writer Eiichiro Oda. ‘One Piece’ debuted in July 1997 as a part of a manga anthology magazine. According to reports, there are more than 105 volumes of the stories written and illustrated by Oda-Sensei.
In 1999, ‘One Piece’ was converted into a 2D series. It gave its fans a chance to view its characters in colours. It interested many non-anime (Anime Series For Beginners) fans. The world of ‘One Piece’ has expanded to theatrical releases. It has been adding new fans to its list every day.

When Netflix asked Oda why he agreed to the new adaptation, he said, “Back then, 26 years ago when I started ‘One Piece’, it was not an era when such manga could be made into a film.”
However, advancements in VFX and CG made him take a plunge to bring characters to life that were originally a part of his imagination.
