After the first two seasons of Netflix Bridgerton became record-breaking, the hopes have certainly been high for the long-awaited slow-burn romance of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton in the thirst chapter of the period drama.
Bridgerton season 3 part 1 has been out on the OTT for a few days now, and that’s enough for the fans and critics to form opinions of at least the first four episodes of the series. The second part will be released on June 13th, 2024. Is the third season better or worse than the previous ones? Are you aware that the best-viewed season might surprise you? Or maybe not!
Here is the ranking order for critic and audience score for Bridgerton via Rotten Tomatoes, including the first half of season 3.

While some of the critics liked Penelope and Colin’s romance, the majority of others seemed to have disagreed on the topic.
The Telegraph's Anita Singh gave two stars and questioned whether Bridgerton is past its sell-by-date. Penelope and Colin "have almost zero chemistry", and aside from their romantic arc, the show "feels tediously familiar", she declared. "The writers seem to have given up. Three of the first four episodes feature an almost identical scene of Penelope fleeing a ball in tears. The Lady Whistledown commentary now feels tired and unnecessary. Even the sex scenes are perfunctory, thrown in once an episode as if meeting a quota," she added.

The Entertainment Times critic Sreeparna Sengupta agreed that in this season, Colin's character graph is less exciting despite him being the lady-charmer and Luke Newton's very sincere portrayal. “In Part one of Bridgerton Season 3, Nicola Coughlan certainly sparkles but the series doesn't dazzle enough,” she said.
