The series, set in the fictional South Indian city of Pernuru, introduces us to a world ruled by a matriarchal gang led by Keerthy Suresh’s character, a feared gangster queen. Her all-female gang, draped in traditional attire and armed to the teeth, controls the gold trade with an iron fist.

But the teaser also hints at a storm brewing on the horizon. Enter Radhika Apte’s character, an outsider with a vendetta and a plan to dismantle the powerful matriarchy. The tension is palpable as the teaser sets up a high-stakes battle between these two formidable women. “The matriarchy stands strong. A rebel plots their downfall. Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte: Powerhouses in Action

Keerthy Suresh, known for her versatility and National Award-winning performances, steps into a bold new avatar as the ruthless gangster queen. Draped in sarees and heavy jewellery, her character exudes authority and fearlessness. The teaser showcases her commanding presence as she leads her gang with unwavering confidence.

On the other hand, Radhika Apte, returning to the screen after welcoming her daughter in December, plays a rebel driven by vengeance. Her character’s determination to bring down the matriarchy adds a layer of intensity to the series.

Directed and written by Dharmaraj Shetty, ‘Akka’ boasts a rich narrative that blends power struggles with emotional depth. Produced by Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films, along with Yogendra Mogre and Akshaye Widhani under YRF Entertainment, the series is backed by a talented crew. The teaser’s stunning visuals, shot across various South Indian locations, hint at the show’s grand scale and cinematic quality.

‘Akka’ marks Keerthy Suresh’s much-anticipated OTT debut. After her Bollywood debut ‘Baby John’ failed to make waves, all eyes are on this series to showcase her talent to a wider audience.
