Having won many hearts with its maiden season, the wait is officially over for one of television’s most-awaited returns: ‘Kohrra 2’. The upcoming instalment is expected to increase the emotional and psychological complexity of the show and bring a new crime with a dark and chilling setting rooted in Punjab.
The production house has confirmed that ‘Kohrra 2’ will release on screens on February 11, 2026. This announcement cascaded across their official social handles in a manner which marks the beginning of the revival of the popular series, which left everyone stunned almost three years ago.
‘Kohrra 2’ will only be available on Netflix. Sharing on their Instagram handle, Netflix wrote, "Ek dhundh mein sach kho jaata hai. Aaiye, iss naye shehar mein, sach ko dhundne, Watch Kohrra 2, featuring Mona Singh and Barun Sobti, coming 11th February only on Netflix.”

The second season introduces an entirely fresh story of murder investigation, maintaining the show's realism, tension, and emotional complexity. The program welcomes Barun Sobti to its cast, playing Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Jasjit Singh, affectionately referred to by his title of Garundi.
This time, Garundi finds himself transferred to another police station, bearing unresolved emotions from the previous events. However, as he finds himself struggling to cope with new people and new locations, the emotional baggage that he carries starts influencing both his professional and personal life.
Adding to the cast is Mona Singh, who plays the role of Dhanwant Kaur, a senior police officer and the authoritative figure for Garundi. Mona Singh brings a much-needed element to the show with Dhanwant Kaur: a sharp and no-nonsense character who changes the equation in the police department. The complicated situations Garundi faces with Dhanwant Kaur are expected to be a highlight of the season for the show.
Like its predecessor, ‘Kohrra 2’ also transcends the process involved in crime-solving. The series delves into the dynamics of relationships, hidden facets of situations, and realities of society influencing crime and justice in a small Punjab setup. The terrain in which these events take place serves as a character in itself, as it represents the emotional haze and unaddressed sorrow in which the detectives trail.
