According to recent reports, 'Kannappa' is likely to release on July 25, 2025. While the date hasn’t been officially confirmed, buzz in film circles suggests that Amazon Prime Video has acquired the digital rights for a hefty amount.

About Kannappa

‘Kannappa’ tells the story of the legendary devotee of Lord Shiva, a cherished folk tale in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film follows Thinnan, a hunter from the Chenchu tribe, who transforms from a non-believer to Kannappa, the ultimate devotee of Lord Shiva (though initially shown devoted to Lord Krishna). In the climax, Kannappa (played by Vishnu Manchu) is guided onto the right path by Rudra (Prabhas in a cameo), a divine messenger of Shiva.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, ‘Kannappa’ features Vishnu Manchu in the lead role, with high-profile cameos from Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, and Kajal Aggarwal. The ensemble cast also includes Preity Mukhundhan, Mohan Babu, R Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, Siva Balaji, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, Devaraj, Mukesh Rishi, Raghu Babu, and Madhoo.

Kannappa Box Office Collection Day 3

According to Sacnilk, ‘Kannappa’ earned Rs 7.25 crore nett in India on Sunday, June 29, 2025, taking its three-day total to Rs 23.75 crore. The film opened strongly with Rs 9.35 crore on its first day but saw a 23.53% dip on Saturday, June 28, 2025, collecting Rs 7.15 crore. Despite releasing in other South Indian languages and Hindi, the film performed best in Telugu. On Sunday, it recorded an occupancy of 39.93% for the Telugu version and 24.1% for the Tamil version.
