At the 2025 edition of FuelFest, which is an event for automobile enthusiasts held in LA, Diesel dropped a major update on the 11th film in the Fast & Furious franchise. Addressing an elated crowd, Diesel shared that the new film would pick up from the cliffhanger ending of Fast X and is slated for an April 2027 release window and teased that O'Conner would return.
“The first is to bring the franchise back to LA. The second thing was to return to the car culture, to street racing. The third thing was reuniting Dom and O'Conner. That is what you're going to get in the finale,” he said.

The return of O'Conner has stirred excitement among fans, with many wondering how the filmmakers would bring the character back. Considering Paul Walker's untimely death in 2013, it's likely that advanced CGI and AI would be involved in some capacity. In Furious 7, the makers had used a combination of Paul's brothers, Cody and Caleb, as stand-ins and CGI to complete the unfinished scenes. It's possible that they would take a similar approach to bring the character back in the new film.

With Jason Momoa's character, Dante Reyes, expected to return along with director Louis Leterrier, the film promises to be an action-packed thrill ride.
