The potterheads across the world have deep admiration for the books and we love the movies no less. But with the announcement of the HP TV series which will be an honest adaptation of the books, we hope to see the iconic book moments that didn’t make it to the movies.

Harry Potter Book Moments That Didn’t Make It To The Films But We Hope To See In HBO’s TV Series

Harry Potter fans were robbed of some amazing book moments which were not shown in the movies, but with the HBO TV series, we hope to see S.P.E.W shining, Ron and Ginny showing who the main characters are, and Peeves and Winky making their on-screen debut.

Ron’s Hero Moments

The Harry Potter film franchise owes an apology to Ronald Weasley for showing him as a cowardly character who has no personality. While in the books, Harry and Hermione get their fair share of scenes to shine, Ron is reduced to a side character who can’t stand his ground. For instance, in the third book (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), Ron stands up on his broken leg to shield Harry from Sirius Black, telling him he would have to kill him to get to Harry. However, in the movie, Hermione is shown saying these lines while Ron quivers on the ground. And how can we forget the iconic song that only book readers know?

“Weasley is our king!
Weasley can save anything,
He never leaves a single ring,
That's why Gryffindors all sing,
Weasley is our king!”

We hope to finally listen to it on HBO’s TV series.

Hermione’s The Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare (S.P.E.W.) Organisation

The movies left a big part of the books that add to the awesomeness of Hermione Granger. Unlike others who saw house elves as filthy creatures who were entitled to enslavement and no pay, Hermione fought to improve their working conditions and rights. In the process, she also met Winky, Dobby’s sister who was completely omitted from the movie.

Context To Harry And Ginny’s Love Story

Harry and Ginny’s love story in the movies was carried faster than the speed of light, which made completely no sense. In the films, Ginny is shown as an introverted, shy girl, having no personality. She loved the famous Harry Potter for five years after which Harry magically reciprocated her love. But in the books, we saw their slow-brewing romance which in my opinion will be a hit on screen. Also, I can't wait to see Ginny’s amazing personality in the TV series that movies didn’t even consider.

Ron, Hermione, And Malfoy Becomes Prefects In Their Fifth Year

It's no surprise that Hermione is entrusted with the responsibility of becoming prefect and guard the Hogwarts corridors, but it comes as a surprise in the case of Ron and Malfoy. It will be fun to watch the characters in their prefect era. Prefects are the glorified hall monitors that are in charge of their respective houses.

Aunt Petunia Wanted To Attend Hogwarts As A Child And Actually Wrote A Letter To Dumbledore

We all know how much Aunt Petunia hated her sister Lily Potter in her childhood but the book shows more layers to why she carried that loath. As a kid, Petunia was extremely jealous of her sister Lily’s acceptance at Hogwarts and actually wrote a letter to Dumbledore asking for permission to attend Hogwarts. However, the request was denied given she did not possess magical abilities.

The Triwizard Tournament

The Triwizard Tournament organised in the fourth book was one of the most iconic moments which wasn’t honestly adapted in the movie. In ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’, Harry is seen struggling to complete his first task of retrieving the golden egg from the clutches of the dragon. However, in the book, he turned out to be the youngest champion among the four others to complete the task quickly and in an admirable style.
