OTT platform Netflix on Monday, September 18, 2023 took to their Instagram handle to announce the teaser-trailer launch and the announcement of the release date for a spin off of the show, ‘Money Heist’ which is called ‘Berlin’.

The spin-off of the ultimate hit series ‘Money Heist’ is all set to stream later this year from December 29, 2023 on the leading OTT platform.
According to reports by The Hollywood Reporter, the new series which is a prequel for ‘Money Heist’ recounts the incredible heists that were carried out a little before the events of the original show. Pedro Alonso will star in the leading role in the show. He will be playing his role of the hedonistic, witty jewel thief ‘Andres de Fonollosa’ who is nicknamed ‘Berlin’ in the Netflix original series.
Along with Berlin the rest of his new crew will consist of Joel Snachez playing the role of ‘Bruce’ who is a relentless action man;Begoa Vargas who will be playing the role of the unstable ‘Cameron’, Julio Pea Fernandez essays the role of the devoted ‘Roi’, and Michelle Jenner as ‘Keila’ an electronics specialist. Tristan Ulloa will be playing the role of ‘Damian’,who is Berlin’s friend and charitable professor.

‘Money Heist’ was initially only a two part limited series with fifteen episodes for the Spanish commercial network called, ‘Antena 3’ in the year 2017. The show that covers the story of an intricate and twisted bank robbery became an unexpected success when Netflix acquired its global rights and re-edited the show into two seasons with twenty two shorter episodes.
