In a case that has shocked the online community, Jyoti Malhotra, a popular Indian YouTuber and travel vlogger from Hisar, Haryana, was arrested by Haryana Police on May 17, 2025. She faces allegations of espionage for Pakistan, according to several media reports.
Known by her channel name ‘Travel with Jo’, Malhotra gained popularity by documenting her travels across India and abroad. Her digital persona as a free-spirited adventurer earned her a loyal audience on YouTube and Instagram. However, her recent arrest has severely impacted her image and may cause a steep drop in her income and influence.
Who is Youtuber Jyoti Malhotra?
Jyoti Malhotra identified herself as a ‘Nomadic Leo Girl’ and had built a solid presence online, with over 3.77 lakh subscribers on YouTube and 1.33 lakh followers on Instagram. Her content primarily focused on travel vlogs, with regular uploads featuring destinations from India and, reportedly, even Pakistan.
Her YouTube viewership averaged around 50,000 views per video, and she typically posted 10 videos a month. This would amount to approximately five lakh monthly views.
Youtuber Jyoti Malhotra Net Worth 2025
YouTube content creators typically earn based on CPM (Cost Per 1000 Views), which for Indian travel vloggers ranges from \$1 to \$3 (approximately ₹80 to ₹240). Based on her viewership, Jyoti's estimated monthly income from YouTube ad revenue could range between ₹40,000 and ₹1.2 lakh.
In addition to ad revenue, Malhotra also earned from sponsorships. She collaborated with travel gear brands, hotels, airlines, and travel apps. As per industry norms, creators of her level generally charge ₹20,000 to ₹50,000 per sponsored post. If she secured 2–3 deals a month, her additional monthly earnings could have ranged between ₹40,000 and ₹1.5 lakh.
Thus, her net monthly income is estimated to have fallen between ₹80,000 and ₹2.7 lakh.
Malhotra had been vlogging for three years. Assuming an average monthly income of ₹1.5 lakh and moderate spending on travel and content production, her total earnings could be around ₹54 lakh, with possible savings of ₹27 lakh. After adjusting for expenses, her estimated net worth likely ranged from ₹15 lakh to ₹40 lakh.
However, her arrest has changed the equation. As per several media reports, her brand partnerships may now be terminated, and YouTube monetisation could be suspended.
Jyoti Malhotra's Family Responds to the Allegations
Jyoti’s father, Haris Malhotra, spoke to the media following her arrest. “She used to make YouTube videos and had visited Pakistan,” he said. According to Haris, the police first came to their home on Thursday, before the arrest, and seized bank documents, mobile phones, a laptop, and her passport.
He also mentioned that Jyoti had been in Hisar for the past four to five days and frequently travelled to Delhi. He has now requested that the police return the seized phones.
