Looking back at her journey in a recent interview, actor Yami Gautam, who made her Bollywood debut with the 2012 Ayushmann Khurrana starrer film Vicky Donor, revealed that she felt lost after starring in the film. She further added that she was not able to “connect” to the roles she was being offered at the time.
Yami Gautam On The Ups And Downs
“My journey is still on...I have faced loads of ups and downs but it's all worth it in the end. Right after my first film, in fact right after the success of the film I did feel lost...I did not know which way to take..” said Gautam in an interview to ANI.
She further added, “I was not able to connect to the opportunities I was receiving at that time...'Do I stay without work or do I take these opportunities and still try,' all these thoughts used to linger in my mind...it took me a while to understand my own self and how to channelise my voice. I had to rediscover myself to understand what's my purpose of coming all the way here and leaving my hometown."

After her debut film Vicky Donor, Gautam appeared in several superhit films including Badla opposite Varun Dhawan, Kaabil opposite Hrithik Roshan, and Uri: The Surgical Strike opposite Vicky Kaushal, among several others. The actor was last seen in Dasvi alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur which had a direct Netflix release. She also starred in Disney + Hotstar film A Thursday. The actor will next be seen in the sequel of the popular 2012 film OMG- Oh My God! titled OMG 2- Oh My God 2!

Gautam’s much-awaited film Lost got premiered at the 53rd annual edition of the International Film Festival of India which is being held by the Government of India between November 20 to November 28, 2022.
“What a perfect platform for Lost to kickstart its journey! Thank you #IFFIGoa for such a warm reception and a fantastic response to Lost! #Lost sets @iffigoa on fire. Received an extraordinary response at its Asian premiere,” the actor tweeted just hours before the premiere.
