Japan’s manga artist Ryo Tatsuki, known for her unsettling yet accurate predictions, is sparking widespread concern with her new prophecy. Reportedly, she predicted that a deadly tsunami would hit Japan in July 2025. This has led to concerns among people, leading to mass cancellations of trips to the country, affecting its overall tourism. Ryo, also known as Japan’s ‘New Baba Vanga’, has previously captured global attention for her chilling forecasts, including the devastating 2011 Tohoku earthquake and the death of iconic figures.

New Baba Vanga’s July 2025 Disaster Prediction

According to CNN and other media reports, the revised edition of ‘The Future I Saw’ by Ryo describes a massive undersea rupture forming between Japan and the Philippines, which could lead to generating a tsunami three times the height of those seen during the 2011 Tohoku disaster.

Her art prediction includes unsettling visuals of Japan's ocean boiling, which suggests a possible reference to an underwater volcanic eruption or a seismic event. A diamond-shaped region connecting Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, and the Northern Mariana Islands is found to be the epicentre of the disaster.

Ryo’s prediction is already having a huge influence on Japan’s tourism. According to Hong Kong-based travel agency WWPKG, bookings have dropped to 50%, and the previously booked trips have seen a massive cancellation. The trend is expected to continue as the feared date draws nearer.

Japanese manga artist Ryo is known for her prophetic claims. People have drawn comparisons to the late Bulgarian mystic Baba Vanga,  known for her eerily accurate predictions about global events. Ryo first caught attention with her book ‘The Future I Saw’, a compilation of visions she claimed to have experienced over the years. While earlier, the book didn’t receive much recognition, later, many of her predictions came true, earning her a devoted following from Japan and beyond.
