Vijay Deverakonda's Journey From ‘Arjun Reddy’ To The Koffee Couch

Vijay Deverakonda, the Telugu actor, has been making quite a buzz recently. From wearing Rs 199 chappal to the trailer launch of his upcoming film ‘Liger’ to his ‘sex in cars’ statement in the trailer of the upcoming ‘Koffee With Karan’ episode – he’s everywhere.

Debuting with the 2011 Telugu film Nuvvila, the actor has appeared in over 15 Telugu films until now. Some of the films are Yevade Subramanyam, Geetha Govindam, Ye Mantram Vesave, Life Is Beautiful, Pelli Choopulu, Dwaraka, Taxiwaala, and World Famous Lover, among others. He has also appeared in the National award-winning 2018 Telugu biopic Mahanati.

However, he rose to prominence and acquired fans all across the country after the 2017 Telugu romantic drama film ‘Arjun Reddy’ directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film was later remade in Hindi in 2019 titled ‘Kabir Singh’ which starred Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead.

In 2019, he starred in the Telugu romantic action drama ‘Dear Comrade’ opposite Rashmika Mandanna which was also praised by fans across the country. The film again trended on Twitter on Tuesday as it marked three years of its release.

Following the success and pan-India fan following for Deverakonda’s ‘Dear Comrade’ and ‘Arjun Reddy’, Deverakonda made his Bollywood debut with the upcoming film ‘Liger’. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film is backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The film also features actors Ramya Krishnan and Ananya Panday. The trailer of the film was released last week on July 21, which made the internet go gaga over his glimpses. During the trailer launch of the film, he came on stage wearing a chappal worth Rs 199 which was praised by fans as well as actor Ranveer Singh. Later, Deverakonda’s stylist told media that the actor insisted on a look that was close to his ‘Liger’ character. The film is scheduled to have a theatrical release on August 25.

Earlier this week, the trailer of the upcoming fourth episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’ was released. In the one-minute trailer, the actor was seen talking about having sex in the car and that he would not mind having a threesome. The episode has Deverakonda’s ‘Liger’ co-actor Ananya Panday as another guest and will air on Thursday.
