Urvashi Rautela, the Bollywood actor and former Miss Diva Universe 2015, is set to appear in the upcoming yet-to-be-titled Telugu film directed by Byapati Srinu starring Ram Pothineni. The film is touted to be an action drama, in which she also has an item song alongside Pothineni. The upcoming film is produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi and also features Sreeleela.
Sharing a photo with Pothineni on social media captioned with a red rose and heart and ‘#RP’, Rautela confirmed her appearance in the project. Soon, netizens were quick to react to the same asking if ‘RP’ meant Ram Pothineni in the previous controversy surrounding Rautela, instead of Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant. “So this was RP. RP= Ram Pothineni #UrvashiRautela,” wrote one user. While another wrote, “According to Urvashi Rautela, #RP means #RAmPOthineni Not #Rishabhpant”

Rautela has been embroiled in controversy with the cricketer after the duo had a public spat on social media. Following an interview, where the actor mentioned a “Mr RP” waiting for her at the hotel she lodged in Delhi and leaving her 16-17 missed calls, Pant took to his Instagram denying such an incident. He said that she was lying in interviews for ”meagre popularity”.
“It's funny how people lie in interviews just for some meagre popularity and for hitting the headlines. Sad how some people are so thirsty for fame and name. May God bless them "merapichachorhoBehen #Jhutkibhilimithotihai.”
To which, Rautela replied, “Chotu Bhaiyaa should play bat ball. Main koyi Munni nahi hoon badnaam hone with young kiddo darlings tere liye liye @Rakshabandhan Mubarak ho #RPChtobhaiyaa #Cougarhunter #Donttakeadvantageofsilentgirl.(sic)”
Since then, there have been several controversies, memes, and claims supporting Pant and against Rautela claiming she was following Pant to his matches, among others. Prior to this there were rumours of the two secretly dating back in 2018 and later parting ways and ending the relationship on a bitter note. However, none of them ever confirmed either of the rumours.

On the work front, Rautela made her Telugu debut in a film directed by Sampath Nandi titled Balck Rose, which was announced in 2020 but is yet to be released. Besides this, she has also appeared in the 2015 Kannada film Mr Airavata and in the 2020 Tamil film The Legend.
