Baazigar
The 1993 romantic action thriller film Baazigar was one of the first films that brought the limelight to Khan where he won millions of hearts as a villain through his performance. His portrayal of a cute romantic hero at the beginning fo the film was so convincing that when he threw one of the primary characters of the film off the roof, it came as a shock to the audience. The film and his performance made a mark in the audiences’ heart for taking up a negative role so early in the career, nailing it as it is, and once again being loved as a romantic hero later.
Swades
Directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar, the 2004 Hindi drama film Swades Khan as a common man. Neither the film nor the character featured any larger-than-life hero, helicopter shots, romancing with silk saree-clad heroines in snow-clad mountains. Dear Zindagi
While we see such less variety in characters when it comes to Bollywood actors in their 50s other than romancing actors half their age, Khan portrayed the role of a psychiatrist of his age in the 2016 Alia Bhatt starrer Dear Zindagi.
