‘Tiger 3’: Salman Khan Announces Film To Release Eid 2023

The upcoming franchise of the Hindi film Tiger, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead, is set to have a theatrical release on Eid next year which is on April 21. The film will simultaneously release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

On the occasion of its first franchise, Ek Tha Tiger, turning ten years, Khan made the announcement through a 30sec video on Monday. “#10YearsOfEkThaTiger...And the journey continues. Tiger is a series of action spy films produced under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Directed by Kabir Khan, the first film in the franchise titled Ek Tha Tiger was released in 2012 featuring Khan as a RAW (Research and Analysing Wing) spy named Avinash Singh Rathore who falls in love with an ISI spy from Pakistan named Zoya Humaini (played by Kaif). The film had collected $5,543,117 gross worldwide.

Later in 2017, the sequel title Tiger Zinda Hain was released which was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. This sequel was based on the 2014 abduction of Indian nurses by the ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and Levant). The film had collected $87,320,000 gross worldwide.

Neither the title nor the plot of the third instalment has been announced yet. The upcoming sequel is directed by Kabir Khan and written by Aditya Chopra, Neelesh Misra and Shridhar Raghavan. Though there is no official confirmation from the filmmakers or crew, there are reports that actor Emraan Hashmi is also a part of the upcoming film. According to an ANI report, the film was scheduled to begin shooting in January this year but was postponed due to the surge in Covid-19 cases. The team wrapped up shooting Delhi in July and is supposed to shoot across several countries including Turkey, Russia and Austria.

The 30-sec announcement video has glimpses of action and dance sequences from both the films Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zindagi Hain.
