Daughter of Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL, Roshni Nadar Malhotra now ranks amongst the wealthiest individuals in India. According to Bloomberg Billionaires data, Roshni ranks among India’s wealthiest individuals, alongside Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani. Shiv Nadar previously held a 51% shareholding in both Vama Delhi and HCL. The gift of a 47% stake to Roshni guarantees stability and a smooth transition of leadership for HCL. This marks a pivotal moment in HCL’s history as Roshni takes a more strategic role in the organisation.
Roshni Nadar Malhotra has been leading HCL as chairperson since 2020. She is the third child of Shiv Nadar and has been involved in the growth of HCL. She continues to push boundaries as a global leader. Apart from handling HCL, she is an active philanthropist and trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation which focuses on empowering India through education.
Born in 1982, in New Delhi, Roshni Nadar attended Vasant Valley School in Delhi. She did her higher education in the United States, earning a bachelor’s degree in communication from Northwestern University, with majors in radio, television, and film. She later earned an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, specialising in social enterprise and strategy.
