Rishi Kapoor Cremated In Mumbai, Late Actor's Old Video From Hospital Goes Viral

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor's last rites were held at Chandanwadi Crematorium today, close family and friends were allowed to attend.

One of the most loved actors of Indian cinema, Rishi Kapoor passed away on Thursday morning at the age of 67. He was admitted to the H N Reliance hospital, where he took his last breathe at around 8.45 am. The actor, who was known for his great acting skills, died after a two-year-long battle with cancer. The news of his death was confirmed by his brother Randhir Kapoor. “He is no more. He has passed away," he told one of the news wires. The actor’s last rites were held at Chandanwadi Crematorium in Mumbai around 4 pm.

His body was taken from directly from the hospital to the cremation ground, in a white van, given the current situation, where in the country is under an unpreceded lockdown due to the pandemic of the novel coronavirus. Because of the same reason only 20 people, all family members and friends of the Kapoors attended the last rites of the veteran actor. The list includes the late actor's wife Neetu Kapoor, sister Rima Jain, Manoj Jain, Armaan Jain, Aadar Jain, Anisha Jain, Rajeev Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Dr Tarang, Ayan Mukerji, Jai Ram, Rohit Dhawan, and Rahul Rawail.

Taking to her Instagram handle, the actor also shared a heartfelt note for the legendary actor, who she referred to as a "beautiful man... who brought so much love and goodness" in her life. Alia was also seen recording the last rites from her smartphone. As per the sources, she was face timing with Rishi Kapoor's daughter Riddhima, who resides in Delhi and was not able to attend her father's funeral. However, as per the reports she is likely to reach Mumbai sometime in the evening tomorrow. She is driving down 1,400 kilometres from the national capital, Delhi to Mumbai.

The actor was a great entertainer, who made everyone happy around him. Reportedly, his family members revealed that during his last moments, he kept one and all entertained with his talks and smile. A video of him is also going viral all over social media, wherein he can be seen smiling and giving blessings to a young boy, who seems to be a hospital staff sang a song for him. The melody is from Rishi's film, Deewana.

While the hospital staff is singing in the one-minute-long clip, Rishi can be seen patiently listening to the song and looking at the camera with a big smile. In between, he kept appreciating the doctor by saying "aree waah" and "very good". In the end, the actor gave blessings to the hospital staff by placing his hand on the boy’s head. He can be heard saying, “mera ashirwad tmhare sath hai. Bahut tarikki karo, safalta prapt karo, mehnat karo. Dekho shahrat, naam ye sb aata hai mehnat ke bad. Mehnat aur thori kismat sath degi to apne aap kam banaenge. Bas ye ek bat ko ganth bandh lena hai.”

His fans and followers have been sharing this video and expressing their love towards the actor. While one wrote, “Someone sent me this.. could not hold my tears after watching it.. #RishiKapoor ji you will live in our hearts forever.. Legends never die..,” another said, “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. #RishiKapoor ji we will miss you Condolences to the family #RanbirKapoor.”
