R Madhavan Says, “Never Say Never” As Son Vedaant Breaks Junior Swimming Record

R Madhavan’s son, Vedaant is an exceptional athlete and has always managed to make the nation proud with his victories. Once again, he has made his parents and country proud as he broke a national junior record at the 48th Junior National Aquatic Championships.

Vedaant’s Record Breaking Performance

At the championship, Vedaant broke a record of 16:06.43 seconds in the 1500m freestyle event by finishing in 16:01.73 seconds. This record breaking performance got him the gold medal.

R Madhavan has all the reasons to be on cloud nine right now as he has made a new record and is climbing the stairs of success.

To share his joy with everyone, R Madhavan posted a video from the championship on twitter and wrote, “Never say never. National Junior Record for 1500m freestyle broken.”

The video featured Vedant swimming while the commentator, “Around 16 minutes, he has broken Advait Page’s record at the 780m mark. I did not expect him to do it but he picked up his pace beautifully.”

This is not the first time that we are hearing praises for Vedaant. In April 2022, the 16-year-old swimmer won a gold medal in 800m freestyle at the Danish Open 2022 in Copenhagen.

At that time also, Madhavan shared his excitement with the audience via a post on Instagram with the caption, “GOLD. With all your blessings and God‘s greatest the winning street continues.Today it’s a GOLD IN 800m for @vedaantmadhavan. Overwhelmed and humbled. Thank you Coach @bacpradeep sir @swimmingfederation.in @ansadxb and the entire team.”

Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut were among those who praised the actor and his son for the great achievement. Priyanka congratulated with a tweet, "Wohooo! Congratulations @VedaantMadhavan! That's an amazing feat! Keep trailblazing! Congratulations @ActorMadhavan and Sarita."

Vedaant also won a silver in the 1500m at the same meet earlier.

In 2021, the teenage boy won a bronze medal in the 1500m freestyle event at the Latvia Open international competition.

In order to get access to better swimming pools and for better opportunities, Madhavan moved to Dubai earlier this year along with his wife Sarita and Vedaant.
