‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has finally arrived in theatres, putting months of fan theories and rampant social media speculation to rest. Fans spent the lead-up to the film guessing where the story would go and whether the makers had a third instalment in mind. Now that Aditya Dhar’s highly anticipated sequel is here, we have some concrete answers.
Spoiler Warning: The following article contains major plot details for ‘Dhurandhar 2’.
Releasing on March 19, 2026, with massive paid previews kicking off the night before, the sequel brings Ranveer Singh back as Hamza Ali Mazari. Now sitting comfortably as the newly crowned King of Lyari, Hamza, whose real name is Jaskirat Singh Rangi, has shifted his focus. He no longer just wants Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal); he is actively hunting the mysterious ‘Bade Sahab’, the shadowy figure teased at the end of the first film.
Naturally, the climax and the extra scenes tacked onto the end credits have everyone talking.

Director Aditya Dhar treated fans with two separate post-credits sequences. The first one takes us back in time, focusing on Jaskirat’s gruelling training before he assumed his Pakistani identity.
We see him under the strict mentorship of Sushant Bansal (Manav Gohli), the Deputy Director of the IB. Bansal and IB Director Ajay Sanyal (R Madhavan) push Jaskirat and other raw recruits to their absolute limits. The men endure brutal fistfights, learn to survive slow poisons, master their new environments, and most importantly, train to bury their emotions beneath cold logic.
The sequence peaks during an underwater endurance test. As Jaskirat holds his breath, the visuals transition smoothly, showing the young recruit transforming into the hardened Hamza we know today. The scene heavily implies that Jaskirat has chosen his country over his blood. He has no plans to reunite with his real family, fully committing to his endless mission. This strongly hints that the groundwork for Dhurandhar 3 is already in place.

The second post-credits scene is a bit more forgettable but wraps up a lingering plot thread. It jumps back to the immediate aftermath of General Shahnawaz (Raj Zutshi) releasing Hamza from a brutal interrogation.
Shahnawaz desperately wanted Hamza to spill Indian state secrets. However, Sanyal forces the General's hand by blackmailing him with video evidence showing Shahnawaz colluding with Israel to leak sensitive Pakistani information.
Furious about the release, ASP Omar Haider (Aditya Uppal), the man who originally exposed Hamza as an Indian spy, storms in to confront Shahnawaz. Omar threatens to take the General's treason to the national assembly. Not missing a beat, a panicked Shahnawaz orders his men to grab Omar and lock him away in a mental asylum, effectively silencing him.

Despite the clear setup, fans might have to wait a while for a third movie. According to the X (formerly Twitter) handle Always Bollywood, a source close to B62 Studios revealed that Aditya Dhar has no intention of rushing the next chapter. The filmmakers want to take their time and prioritise a strong script over a quick cash grab. As of right now, there is no official release date or announcement for ‘Dhurandhar 3’.

While the future of the franchise is brewing in the background, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is breaking records right now. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film earned an astonishing ₹52.71 crore gross (₹44 crore net) from its paid previews.
The massive release scale helped drive these numbers. Distributors booked over 12,000 shows across India, and audiences flooded booking platforms to secure advance tickets, filling theatres despite hiked prices in major cities. Trade experts confirm this is the highest-paid preview collection ever for an Indian film, easily surpassing previous heavyweights like ‘Stree 2’ and Pawan Kalyan’s ‘OG’.

Featuring a strong supporting cast including Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Danish Pandor, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is riding high on positive critical acclaim and looks ready to dominate the box office for weeks to come.
