Father Uncovers the Abuse While Abroad

The father, who runs an immigration consultancy, was in London on a business trip in early February when he noticed something unusual. While checking his home security cameras remotely, he found they had been turned off. Suspicious, he returned home early and used a spare key to enter the house.

Inside, he found his wife with her boyfriend. When he checked her phone, he was horrified to find videos of their three-year-old daughter being sexually abused. The phone also revealed a year-long chat history between the mother and her boyfriend, detailing their relationship and the abuse.

"When I remotely checked the CCTV cameras at my house, I found them non-functional. I realised that my wife would turn off the cameras whenever her friend visited the house," the complainant stated in his report to authorities.

How the Relationship Began

The mother reportedly met her boyfriend at a salon about a year ago. Their relationship turned into an affair, and the abuse of the child began soon after. The father had previously questioned his wife about the man’s presence in their home, but she dismissed him as a childhood friend who was “fond of their daughter.”

Impersonation and Threats

The boyfriend took his crimes even further by pretending to be a police officer. He posted videos of himself online wearing a police uniform and holding weapons. Using this fake identity, he threatened the father, warning him not to report the abuse or face consequences. He even threatened to frame the father in a criminal case if he spoke out.

"The woman's boyfriend had been threatening the girl's father, claiming to be a police officer and warning him of consequences if he complained," police officials stated.

Medical Evidence Confirms the Abuse

A medical examination of the child confirmed the allegations of sexual abuse. The young girl’s statement has been recorded by a magistrate, and she is now receiving counselling to help her cope with the trauma.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Both accused were produced in court and remanded to police custody for two days to facilitate further investigation. Authorities have seized the mother's phone, which has been sent for forensic examination. Police are also investigating the recovery of the police uniform allegedly used by the male suspect.

The pair faces multiple serious charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Section 65/2 of BNS for rape, Section 204 for impersonating a government official, Section 351/2 for criminal intimidation, and Section 6 of POCSO Act for aggravated penetrative sexual assault, which carries a minimum imprisonment of 20 years.
