Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Officially Demoted By The British Monarchy

Early in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, announced their permanent resignation from their royal duties and moved to the US with their young son Archie Harrison. After that, they were pushed to the rank below Princess Anne.

Now, they have been officially demoted on the official Royal Family website, with their names pushed all the way down to the bottom of the list.

The senior Royal family members, King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales, are typically ranked above everyone else on the website. Then, other minor members of the Royal Family like the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent come on the list.

In the end, the disgraced Duke of York – Prince Andrew is on the list. But now, only one step ahead of him are Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were working members of the family till recently despite them stepping back. Their dedicated pages were listed below Prince William and Kate Middleton, (now Prince and Princess of Wales).

The succession list changed after King Charles III ascended the throne of the United Kingdom after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Queen Elizabeth II was the longest-reigning queen of Britain. She passed away on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96. The cause of the Queen’s death wasn’t clarified but according to a Royal expert, Queen Elizabeth II died of a “broken heart” after the death of her husband Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip 2021.

After Queen Elizabeth’s death, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spent 11 days in England. However, according to reports, their relationship with the royal family has not improved.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married on May 19, 2018, at Windsor Castle in the United Kingdom. They are parents to two children, Archie and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor. The couple stepped down as working royals in 2020 and moved to California later.
