Here is what PM Modi had to say in his second speech on Coronavirus effecting India.

second speech modi

PM Modi made a second speech on March 24, announcing that the entire country will be under lockdown starting 12 AM of 25th March. It is the need of the hour he said.

The PM began by applauding that the Indian citizens came together on 22nd march, and made janta curfew successful on the day.

He said: "The citizens proved that when there is a problem the nation faces, all citizens unite and face it together. You are hearing and watching news all over on the net. You are also seeing how the most empowered nations tried their best.

"It's not that the nations are not making efforts or lack resources. But the virus is spreading... the result of two months' study of these countries and the experts are also saying that social distancing is the only option to combat corona. That is to remain apart from each other and stay inside the house. There is no other way to remain safe. We have to stop it from spreading. We have to break the cycle of infection. Some people are under the misconception that social distancing is for all, all families and also the PM.

Irresponsible Attitude Can Make India Suffer, Country Will Be Setback By 21 Days

"The irresponsible attitude of few can risk the lives and health of all around them and the nation at large. If this kind of attitude continues, India may have to pay. How much, is unfathomable, The initiatives taken by the government need to be taken seriously. The nation is taking is a very important role. from 12 am today the whole nation the entire country is going under lockdown, To save India and it's citizens. To save you, your family, you cannot step out of the house post 12 a.m.

Every district, Union territory will be going under lockdown, it is bigger than janta curfew. This is an essential step in this battle. The economy will bear the cost of this lockdown but it is Indian Govt's priority at the moment that people are safe. I request you to stay where you are. This shall be enforced for 21 days.

When I came last time I said it was for a few weeks. It is important for every family. A minimum of 21 days has been recommended as per health experts. if 21 days don't work then the country and u will be setback by 21 days. Many families will be destroyed. Therefor for a few days forget venturing out at all.

You Cannot Cross The Laxman Rekha

This is a Laxman Rekha drawn by the lockdown. You have to remember that if you step out, it could be inviting coronavirus. Many times the person with corona looks normal in the beginning. You cannot judge. You could meet potential carriers.

There are some very interesting ways in which the message is being spread.

Experts also say that if a person is infected, the symptoms would take very long and meanwhile spread the virus among others. WHO reports say that one person can affect hundreds within a week. Spreads like wildfire.

In the world, it took 67 days to reach 1 lakh and after that, within 11 days we had 1 lakh more infected people.

It is very difficult to stop the virus. This is why China, France, America, Spain, Italy, Iran, when the virus started spreading, the scenario is for all to see. They have the best of resources when it comes to health services they could not control it. To battle corona, some countries were able to control it by following the lockdown properly and did what the government asked them to do. Do not move out of the house.

But a ray of hope in these times comes from countries that have been able to control the spread of coronavirus to some extent.

This is the time to show resolve and patience as "Jaan hai tuh Jahaan hai". Think about doctors, health agencies, cleaning staff, media & police.
