President Droupadi Murmu To Launch Start-Up Platform For Women Entrepreneurs

On Tuesday, President Droupadi Murmu will formally inaugurate a start-up platform for female entrepreneurs developed by Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. At a ceremony at Gujarat University on the second day of her two-day tour, the president will also launch the new initiative and lay the foundation stone for several projects focused on education and tribal development. A project of the varsity for female entrepreneurs is called Her Start.

Murmu is on her first visit to Gujarat after becoming president. On Monday she inaugurated and laid foundation stones for projects worth ₹1,330 crore at a function in Gandhinagar. She also offered a floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and spun the charkha at Sabarmati Ashram.

The President Droupadi Murmu expressed confidence that projects which are inaugurated and for which foundation stones were laid today, will create new employment and business opportunities for farmers and entrepreneurs.

Speaking on the occasion, the President said, “The people of Gujarat have a culture of enterprise and innovation. The entrepreneurs of Gujarat have given a special identity to Gujarat and India. Gujarat is one of the leading states in the country in terms of development.”
