Actor and talk show host Neha Dhupia is known for her quirky and bold nature. The actor never minces her words and calls a spade a spade. Recently, Neha spoke about the sexism she had faced in the South film industry. She revealed that the filmmakers once insisted on feeding the lead actor first while she would sit hungry on sets.
While talking to an entertainment portal, Neha said, “I think long time back when I was doing a South film, they always insisted on feeding the hero first and I would just be like ‘I am hungry’ and they would be like, ‘But he is in a shot and he will pick up the plate first’. Bizarre things like that would happen. But that was many years ago. It was very archaic and things like that don’t happen anymore. It happened once on a set with me and I just laughed it off. It really did not bother me because I was just like ‘OK fine. I’ll just sit around."
Recently, the actor also revealed that she was sidelined by the industry after giving birth, despite delivering an acclaimed performance in her last film. She said, "Firstly, I believe that you cannot wait for work to come to you. Secondly, when you become a mum, yes, there is a perception. The last thing I did before pregnancy was Tumhari Sulu, for which I won an award. But despite that, I did not get any offers as far as movies are concerned, post-pregnancy. Now, I am in talks for a web show, so let’s see about that."

And that's not all. The actress also faced body image issues over her post-baby weight. “I did not have insecurity when I was pregnant. I started facing body image issues after I gave birth. I am not saying that people need to lose weight, being perfect is everyone’s own version. But, what happens mentally is that everything acts up together. I remember I was trolled very badly where a female journalist wrote something on my weight, and I wrote back. It is not fair to trouble a new mum over her body weight,” she added.
