During the conflict, the Indian Navy initiated Operation Trident on the night of December 4th. The mission was an attack on the Karachi harbour, targeting Pakistan’s naval fleet. The Indian Navy successfully sank several Pakistani ships, crippling the naval forces and severely impacting Pakistan’s maritime capabilities. 

Operation Trident was launched by the Indian Navy on December 4-5, 1971, during the Indo-Pakistani War.
