A heart-stopping video of a maternity home in China has taken the internet by storm, showcasing nurses in the child care room shielding newborns and infants from harm's way as a catastrophic earthquake struck. Recently, Myanmar, Thailand, and some other countries in the South-Asian region suffered high-magnitude earthquakes which also resulted in follow-up tremors in neighboring countries. The video was reportedly recorded by the cameras at the premises when some powerful tremors, triggered by the Myanmar earthquake, were felt across the region, including China.
Nurses Save Infants Amid Earthquake In China
An X user, ‘Tongbingxue’ shared a video of the heartwarming scene captured by the premises’ camera with the caption, “Atouching moment during the tragedy: The earthquake in Myanmar was felt in Ruili, Yunnan, China, where two nurses at Jingcheng Hospital's maternity center were seen shielding infants.” The CCTV footage shows the nurses struggling to keep the cribs steady as the violent shaking caused them to roll uncontrollably.

The devastating 7.7-magnitude Myanmar earthquake has left a trail of destruction and chaos in its wake. According to reports, it has claimed the lives of at least 1,600 people and injured over 3,400.
One nurse was seen seated on the floor with a baby in her arms and she instinctively grabbed a crib to prevent it from being flung across the room while another nurse rushed to steady two swaying cribs, struggling to balance as a water filter tipped over, spilling water all around them. Their bravery is being lauded on social media by the netizens.

Another X user, ‘NasirKhuehami’ replied to the video, “Nurses embody the same bravery as soldiers on the frontlines of war, standing resolute amidst chaos, their care serving as a shield for the vulnerable. Each of these nurses is a hero in my book, offering hope and healing when it is needed most!”
“This is so touching. We can see humanity and compassion everywhere around the world. People are evil but many are good humans also,” wrote Khaomaakekasam.
