Why Is Miss Universe 2023 Pageant Special?
To compete for Miss Universe, a woman had to be in the age bracket of 18-28. However, this has been removed.
The initial expectation from participants was to remain unmarried and not embrace motherhood until they were crowned Miss Universe, but this year, married, divorced, and trans women can also participate in the pageant.
The theme of this year’s pageant will be special because it will be celebrating the beauty of women surpassing the borders of patriarchal stereotypes that have confined the standards of beauty into shape, size, sex, and skin colour. The pageant’s initiative will teach the world to celebrate womanhood without adding any ifs and buts to the praise.
According to an official statement released by the committee organising the pageant mentioned that a woman's personal choices should not be treated as obstacles to her success.
