Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua has won the title of Miss Universe 2023, she is the first woman from Nicaragua to win the Miss Universe crown. Anntonia Porsild from Thailand was the first runner up and Moraya Wilson from Australia was the second runner up of Miss Universe 2023. The 23-year-old Shweta Sharda of Chandigarh, representing India, made it to the top 20 finalists. For the final round of Miss Universe 2023, Sheynnis Palacios was asked “If you could live one year in another woman’s shoes, who would you choose and why?”
To this, she answered, "I would choose Mary Wollstonecraft because she opened the gap and gave an opportunity to many women. And what I would do, I would want that income gap to open up so women could work. In any area, they choose to work because there are no limitations for women. That was 1750. Now in 2023, we are making history.”
Mary Wollstonecraft was a British writer, philosopher, and women's rights advocate.

About Sheynnis Palacios’s Beauty Pageant Journey

Following her 2016 Miss Teen Nicaragua crown, Sheynnis Palacios entered the beauty pageant world. She then competed in the Teen Miss Universe 2017 pageant achieving in the Top 10. After that, she took a break from pageants before entering and ultimately winning Miss World Nicaragua 2020. Palacios competed in the Miss World 2021 pageant as Miss World Nicaragua.

In August 2023, Palacios entered the Miss Nicaragua 2023 pageant and won the pageant. She was then eligible to compete as a national representative at Miss Universe 2023.
