In many ways the Miss Universe 2023 pageant is different from previous years. It has become more inclusive and progressive. Michelle Cohn from Guatemala and Camila Avella Montanez from Columbia are mothers participating in the contest. It is the first time that the Miss Universe pageant has opened its gates for women who have embraced parenthood. This year, the organisers removed age limit for the participants to compete.
Marina Machete from Portugal and Valerie Kolle from the Netherlands are trans women. This is the first time that people from the LGBTQIA community are representing their country in this annual global pageantry.
Another milestone for the 72nd Miss Universe event is the participation of Pakistan. Erica Robin is representing the country. She is the first woman ever to be crowned Miss Universe Pakistan 2023.

You must be wondering who is representing India this year. It’s Shweta Sharda who was crowned LIVA Miss Universe 2023. The 22-year-old beauty pageant winner reportedly moved to Mumbai with her mother when she was only 16.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
For the preliminary competition, Sharda wore an evening gown featuring cutouts near the waist and intricate detail on the sheer fabric.
Sharda has reportedly participated in reality TV shows like Dance Deewane, Dance India Dance, and Dance Plus. Need we say that her hobbies and passion are dancing? She has also been a choreographer in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.
