Another user wrote that Laal Singh Chaddha was a brave effort of Aamir Khan to adapt Forrest Gump. While he found the first half entertaining, the second had an emotional connection. He also loved the cameo appearance of Shah Rukh Khan.
#laalsinghchaddha a brave effort from #aamirkhan a beautiful adaptation of #ForrestGump 1st half is absolutely entertaining. Breezes through. 2nd half quite emotional and deep. Turban scene, SRK cameo fantastic. Music is the soul of the film. ❤️

Saw #LaalSinghChaddha in first show. What an epic performance by Aamir…one of his finest (and that says a lot for someone with the body of work that he has…Lagaan, Gajni, Dangal etc.). The film grows on you & you fall in love wid Laal Singh. Wishing @AKPPL_Official all the best

Among the positive reviews, there are people who did not like the film. They found it to be a flop.
Rebel Akki found Laal Singh Chaddha unbearable. According to him, the movie was a sinking ship that even a perfectionist like Aamir Khan could not save.
#OneWordReview...#LaalSinghChaddha : UNBEARABLE.

Rating: Half🌠
A golden opportunity miss. Even #AmirKhan star-power cannot save this ship from sinking… EPIC DISAPPOINTMENT. #LaalSinghChaddhaReviewpic.twitter.com/SgrMO3bA0Q
Film critic Sumit Kadel gave Laal Singh Chaddha only two stars. He called it a poor adaptation of Forrest Gump and found only a few good moments in the film.
#LaalSinghChaddha ⭐️⭐️ #LSC is a poor adaptation of #ForrestGump ,it lacks soul & emotions of the original classic..There are few feel good moments but the overall impact is unsatisfactory.. #AamirKhan repeats his character samar from D3, he over acted throughout. EPIC LET DOWN pic.twitter.com/ApPOcYq0vJ

One user even pointed out the obsession of old Bollywood actors to play young characters. He called this a sign for movies to flop. However, he seems to have missed out even in the trailer that the film focuses on the journey of Laal from young to old.
The fascination for aging Superstars to play 20 something characters are the first signs of their huge fall. History says so!

Before and even after the release of the film, Twitter users have been using #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha to instigate people not to go and watch it. Some have been upset by an old remark of Aamir Khan, while others are boycotting because Kareena Kapoor said that one has to ignore certain things (trolling).
The actor has even come forward to request his fans not to boycott his films and that he loves India. Reports suggested that even before the release, the movie had already booked tickets for around ₹8 crores.
