HZ Women Of The Month: Karuna Pandey On Achieving Success Later In Life

Pushpa Impossible is a simple story of a middle-aged woman, a mother who lives her life to the fullest despite all the challenges that come her way everyday. Having studied till class nine, she goes back to school in her 40s to fulfil her dream of completing her education. Pushpa Impossible is a drama that inspires to not lose hope no matter what comes our way.

The daily TV drama is special for more than one reason. Pushpa Impossible’s lead Karuna Pandey, who has been a part of the showbiz for years now, got the spotlight with this drama. In her 40s today, Pandey is one of the most popular faces of television and an idol for women across the country. This week, Karuna Pandey was our guest on HZ Women Of The Month, a weekly series where we interact with women achievers from different spheres. During our interaction, Karuna Pandey talked about signing the project Pushpa Impossible, achieving success in her 40s and a lot more. Excerpts -

Karuna Pandey On Saying Yes To Pushpa Impossible

We began the interaction by asking Pandey what made her say yes to a script like Pushpa Impossible. She said, "It was a rare script. When I first read the script I felt like this drama was something different. Previously when I went for auditions, I was given scripts where the character was casually written, there wasn't any depth to it. When I read Pushpa's character, I could feel that the makers had put in a lot of effort into building the character. I saw a lot of potential, the script was beautifully weaved, right from the beginning. It was a very strong script and I had to do it."

On Achieving Success Later In Life

Though Karuna Pandey starred in multiple shows before, it was with Pushpa Impossible that she became a household name. Speaking about achieving success later in her career, she said, “This is the beauty of our field. We can achieve success at any age in our life. Also, the way television has evolved over the years, there aren’t any roadblocks for actors. Today, we get to see different kinds of dramas, different concepts, so I would say I am lucky to have bagged a role like Pushpa Impossible. On Never Giving Up On Dreams

Karuna Pandey is basking in the success of Pushpa Impossible in her 40s today, an age when a lot of women stop dreaming. However, Pandey believes that one should never give up on their dreams no matter what. Sending a message to women across the country who give up on their dreams too early, she said, “It is easier for me to be here and say things like don’t give up on your dreams. A lot we do depends on our upbringing, the environment they live in. Many women in the country are trained to live for others. To such women, I would only say that try to take out some time for yourself. If you have a partner who understands you, tell them about your dreams or you can also share your feelings with someone who is supportive. Not every woman in our country has the luxury to achieve their dreams but you can always try.”
