The sudden demise of actor Sridevi earlier this year shocked the entire nation. It was a difficult time for the Kapoor family, especially the young daughters – Janhvi and Khushi. While the entire ‘Kapoor Khaandan’ was up to back both Janhvi and Khushi during this time, one man who emerged as the solid rock for the two sisters was Arjun Kapoor. Arjun, stood as a pillar for his half-sisters both Janhvi and Khushi with whom he wasn’t in any talking terms earlier. Sridevi too never had a great bonding with Arjun but irrespective of that, he showered support and strength to the family. Some years back, Arjun lost his mom at a young age and he believes it is something he wouldn’t even imagine for his worst enemy. Ever since then, his equation with his sisters and dad has changed.
The family came closer and was seen celebrating Janhvi’s birthday together after Sridevi’s sudden demise. Their first family picture came out during Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding reception and we were short of words. From slamming trollers who were trying to troll Janhvi to supporting her during her debut movie, Dhadak, Arjun has entirely changed his equation with Janhvi. In all his interaction with the media, Arjun has said that he and his sister Anshula are always there was Janhvi and Khushi whenever they need them.
In a recent interaction to media, Arjun shared about the change in his equation with his half-sisters Janhvi and Khushi. He said, "I was in Punjab when I got the news. I called my maasi and sister immediately. I had to do what I felt was right. That’s what mom would expect of me, to be there for my father and family. If I can be a good brother and a good son, then why not? Mujhe toh kuchh achha hi mil raha hai, I’m getting two more sisters and helping my father feel a little relaxed. People jumped the gun that everything was perfect when it came to my relationship with Janhvi, Khushi, Anshula and dad."
He further shared, “It was at a nascent stage as we were still figuring out things. But we were comfortable with each other and that was a good starting point. Mujhe darr tha ki zyada baat karne se nazar lag jayegi. I wanted things to take their own course. Janhvi and Khushi are both sorted. Today, we are able to speak one-on-one. I know they will figure out life in their own time, in their own way. Anshula and I are there for them." With time, Arjun feels he has learned the importance of connecting with the family. He feels there are times when you need to sit down with your family and have a meal. He believes now there is a certain ease in things and he is figuring things out slowly.
