Meet IAS Officer Saumya Pandey Whose Act Of Kindness Towards Disabled Elderly UP Man Goes Viral

The video of Saumya Pandey, an IAS officer in Uttar Pradesh, interacting with a disabled elderly man has gone viral as people are praising the officer for her kind gesture. In the video, the Chief Development Officer is seen hearing the pain of the elder man Dhaniram, a resident of Amraudha Nagar Panchayat, who came to buy an electronic bicycle. Pandey directed the Divyangjan Adhikari to provide all possible help so that the old people can get all the benefits of the government's schemes.

The incident took place in the Kanpur Dehat district of Uttar Pradesh. Who Is Saumya Pandey?

Saumya Pandey is an IAS (Indian Administrative Services) from the 2016 batch who cracked the UPSC Civil Services Examination in her first attempt with an All India Rank (AIR) of fourth. She also scored 98 per cent marks in class 10 and 97.8 per cent in class 12 and also won a gold medal during her undergraduate in engineering.

Hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, IAS Pandey is currently serving as the Chief Development Officer (CDO) in Kanpur.

In a previous interview, Pandey shared the day she received her UPSC results. She said she had the UPSC Civil Services Test Results in PDF format download, but she lacked the confidence to look at the names. She started seeing the name from below, according to her mother, which is why. She assured her mother that she would prepare better for the next attempt and would succeed without a doubt when the name was not revealed. But her mother urged her to look at the list of names to see who came in first. My mother and I were shocked when my name was listed among the top scorers. When she compared the outcome with her roll number, she was able to confirm that the outcome was in fact hers. She also suggested all aspirants to prepare from NCERT.
