Bengaluru Woman Abducted And Gang-Raped By Four Men Aged 22-24 Years In A Moving Car

The four men arrested in the Bengaluru gang-rape case by the Koramangala police station are Sathish, Vijay, Sridhar and Kiran. All are aged between 22 and 24 years and residents of Ejipura and surrounding areas.

In a horrific incident on March 25, a woman in Bengaluru was reportedly dragged and abducted from a park and gang-raped by four men in a moving car for many hours, as per police officials. The four accused have been arrested and the investigation is underway.

According to the police reports, the woman was dragged away forcefully from the National Games Village neighbourhood in Koramangala, Bengaluru and was left on a road in Ejipura four hours later. The four men arrested in the case by the Koramangala police station are Sathish, Vijay, Sridhar and Kiran. All are aged between 22 and 24 years and residents of Ejipura and surrounding areas working as office boys, one works in a BPO and the other is an electrician. While the survivor works in a private firm.

The woman was sitting in a park in the National Games Village along with a male friend around 9.30 pm on March 25 when one of the accused living in the neighbourhood found the duo smoking. He got into an argument with them regarding the same. While the male friend left the park and went home, the accused continued to argue with the women and latter called his three friends to the place.

The four men, then, dragged the woman into a car at around 11 pm and drove to Domlur and Hosur main road and before reaching the Attibele check post, took a U-turn and came back to Ejipura at around 3.30 am. They left the survivor on the roadside in Ejipura.

The survivor reportedly managed to get back home and went to the nearby hospital to get treated for her injuries with the help of her mother and friends. Following which, she filed a complaint against the four men at the Koramangala police station. She is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital but is out of risk.

As per reports, the deputy commissioner of police (South-East), C K Baba, said that two special teams were immediately formed after the complaint and arrested the four accused in the case within nine hours.

The survivor and her friend had both sent the accused men earlier as they lived in the same area, as per reports. The friend had even called the women when she was in the car, the reports said.

The accused have also been subjected to medical tests and the police are awaiting the results if they were under the influence of drugs. The police have also collected the survivor’s medical reports and the clothes she was wearing on the day of the alleged crime.

Following the incident, the police have reportedly tightened security across the city ahead of the Assembly elections in Karnataka and senior officials have been deployed in major locations and vehicle checks are ongoing. As per the police, patrolling in the city has been increased.
